When you want to beat Brisbane’s summer heat, it’s hard to find a better option than a professionally installed ducted air conditioning system.
Although they are more expensive than the alternatives, ducted systems can be sized to suit your space and a single unit can heat and cool your entire home. By making use of a central cooling unit – usually hidden in the ceiling cavity – a ducted system can deliver cool air to whichever rooms you need it in.
Installing residential ducted air conditioning is an involved job, so it makes sense to leave it to an experienced professional. Ultimate Refrigeration Services has over 30 years of experience in the industry and we supply and install quality ducted systems from some of Australia’s most popular brands.
Ducted air conditioning is the ultimate solution for most residential installations. While a full ducted system requires a licensed professional to install and can cost more up front, they offer plenty of benefits over installing one or more split system units, and so can be great value for money:
One central unit can heat and cool your entire home.
Each room only needs a small vent installed, doing away with bulky wall units.
Quieter than split system air conditioners.
House can be divided into zones, so you can control the temperature in each room separately.
Ideal for larger homes or when trying to cool large spaces.
Cheaper to run than multiple split systems

Ducted systems work by extracting warm air from your house and blowing cool air back in. In a typical ducted system this is done by combining a fan coil unit hidden in the ceiling and a condenser unit installed outside your home.
In the ceiling, the fan coil unit circulates cool refrigerant which soaks up warm air and transports it outside to the condenser unit. The condenser disposes of the excess heat and then the cool refrigerant is pumped back into the ceiling to start its journey all over again.
For many homeowners, the main benefit of a ducted system goes on in the ceiling cavity where the ductwork can be divided into multiple zones. Each zone can be individually temperature controlled, or even completely shut off from the air conditioner, so you can choose which rooms you want to heat or cool.
